A SHARP RISE IN PERSONAL INJURY CLAIMS, BUT FEWER ACCIDENTS

It has recently been reported that  numbers are on the increase of people making claims for personal injuries after a road traffic accident despite there being a fall in the numbers of road traffic accidents.

A recent report from the Actuarial Profession states that despite an 11% fall in the number of road accidents in 2011, personal injury claims have risen by 18%.  High petrol prices has resulted in fewer car journeys and this has been given as the main reason for the 11% reduction in motor accidents in 2011.

As reported by the Actuaries, a greater number of people involved in these accidents are making  compensation claims for their injuries, the most common being whiplash.

Personal Injury Solicitor, Mathew Bell at Manchester Personal Injury law firm Swift Solicitors says “he has seen the number of claims consistently rising over the last few years”.

  1. There are several ways on how to claim for a compensation from sustaining an injury due to someone else's negligence. Some offer a service that is designed to make claiming for personal injuries as straightforward as possible such as no win no fee claims, this means, win or lose, a claimant won't have to pay for the solicitor's fee. The insurance will cover the expenses and other court fees. However, if the claim wins, a 100% compensation will be given to the claimant.
